I do take on commissioned work and as such I’m relying on actually receiving the sum I and my customer has agreed upon. But as a freelancing artist I have throughout the years learned the hard way that many want to commission me for whatever sort of work they have for me but few want to pay for it or on time.
So I came up with a plan about how to solve this particular problem:
When I have finished my commissioned work I upload a low- resolution version of it and let you see that the piece is finished. When I see the agreed upon sum in my bank account I then upload the high- resolution version for you to download. If you are in a rush and really need the piece yesterday then that’s your problem, I don’t deliver until I see the money in my account. I also retain the original artwork unless we have agreed upon that I send it to you which may affect the price.
The result is satisfaction for both parties since you don’t pay for something you haven’t actually seen and I don’t deliver if I’m not certain I’m getting my pay.
I’d be happy to take on any form of commission from you, provided I have the time for it, but I do not work for free. Standard rates are applied and if this is not for you then you might want to look elsewhere for another artist to do the work for you.
